Working from home is great, but it’s not without challenges. Let’s face it, it’s not always easy keeping a hard boundary between work and home life.

I’m always on the hunt for ways to make life easier and more fun. Just for kicks, I thought I would share some random non-work related things I love (and keep me just a little bit more sane).

Make-a-flake – Remember making those paper snowflakes as kids? Now imagine doing it online. Without the mess. Fun for the whole family.

How we mop the floor – Because a mop is just so unruly.

Seeds Family Worship – One of the best and easiest ways to memorize Scripture. For the whole family. (And make sure you check out their videos like here, here and here.)

Plugged In – A helpful movie review site that lets you see at a glance what movies contain and whether or not their appropriate for various groups and ages.

Progressive Phonics – This is how we taught several of our children to read. It’s a free curriculum (registration required), is humorous and provides built-in snuggle time.

Shave with water – This is more of a tip than anything else, but it changed my life so I’m passing it on. I used to shave my legs with creams or gels, but I would always get irritated, red bumps afterwards. Then a friend told me to shave with only water and the problem disappeared.

Parenting quote – “Your greatest contribution to the Kingdom may not be something you do but someone you raise.” (Andy Stanley)

Menu planners – There’s no shortage of menu planners out here, but I like this one and this one the most. Other than looking great, the main thing I love about these is that they have categorized shopping lists included.

Adoption stories – My friend Annelise has an amazing understanding of children and an amazing way of writing about how I can be more so.
