How to Create a Task or To-Do List in Gmail

In keeping with the string of email management tips we’ve had recently, I thought I’d post yet another! This time, it’s about keeping track of to-dos right in Gmail.

My email inevitably reminds me of, or alerts me to things I have to do. I love Gmail‘s task lists which allow you to create quick and easy to-do lists right from your inbox.

Update: In the new Gmail interface, find your Tasks lists in the dropdown menu here:

      Right under the Gmail logo and just above the Compose button, you’ll see “Mail” with a dropdown arrow next to it. Check there (it’s the new interface).

    Amy – I’m new to Gmail and haven’t loved it so much. (Don’t like how it bundles messages, I don’t see the new ones as easily – but I don’t clear out my inbox like you do – you’re who I want to be!) This helps me understand it better and will save me time. YEAH! Thanks so much!

    I never knew that was there. I’m definately going to try it. Thanks for the tip.
    Loved hearing the kids in the background. My little ones can always be heard when I’m on the phone. Glad I’m not alone.

    AWESOME!!!!! ok, I’m am going to MAKE myself start using my gmail account!! This is why I feel so disorganized…..and gmail has the solutions I need!
