Once you’ve set up your site and installed WordPress, this is how to login to WordPress for the first time.
1. Find your WordPress login info
You should have gotten your WordPress login information in an email immediately after installation (see the last step here).
2. Go to the WordPress login screen for your site
You can login to your WordPress site several ways, but the standard way to do so is to simply add “wp-admin” (no quotes) after your domain. For example, this is the URL I would put into my browser if I wanted to login to my own site:
3. Enter your username and password
Enter your username and password and click Log In.
Once you’re logged in, you’ll be taken to your Dashboard. It will look something like this:
This is the nerve center for your WordPress site. It’s called your Dashboard. You’ll spend a lot of time here.
Note the appearance of your Dashboard changes from time to time due to updates, highlighted news from WordPress, etc. As you work from your Dashboard, you’ll become familiar with man of its features.
